Google hat seinen Datenbankdienst Google Base nun auch in Deutschland gestartet und dringt damit immer weiter in die Gefilde von Konkurrenten wie eBay ein.
Bei Google Base können Internet-Nutzer Informationen und Warenangebote aller Art wie Nachrichten, Jobangebote und Rezepte sowie Kleinanzeigen online stellen.Suchen und findenSie können anschließend auch über die normale Google-Suche, Google Maps sowie über die Produktsuche Froogle gefunden werden.
Derzeit seien lediglich zehn Prozent aller Informationen weltweit im Internet verfügbar, erklärte Google-Sprecherin Rachel Whetstone das Konzept.Google Base solle die Möglichkeiten der Suche im Internet deutlich ausbauen.Weil es über keine Bezahlfunktionen verfüge, sei das Angebot auch keine direkte Konkurrenz zu eBay. Laut Medienberichten wird an einer solchen aber bereits gearbeitet.
